What to Expect During Cusco Festivities

1. Parades and Civic Celebrations

Throughout June, Cusco’s main streets and squares come alive with parades by schools, institutions, and traditional dance troupes. The colorful costumes and live music create an unforgettable atmosphere.

2. Inti Raymi – The Festival of the Sun (June 24th)

This is the most important celebration of the month. Inti Raymi is a reenactment of an ancient Inca ritual honoring the Sun God. The event takes place at three main locations:

• Sacsayhuamán Archaeological Park (main performance)
